Meet the team

Gus Worland

Co-founder & Director

His story

Two decades on the mic, one moment that changed everything.

Gus spent the better part of two decades as a broadcaster, TV host and storyteller. Then the loss of a close friend and mentor to suicide changed the direction of his life entirely. In the aftermath he did something unusual: he talked about it on air, to his radio audience, voice breaking, no script. The phones lit up. People wanted to share their stories too.

That moment became a turning point. It led to the Gotcha4Life Foundation, a TED2023 main stage talk in Vancouver, and more than 15 years of frontline advocacy across mining sites, boardrooms, stadium crowds and government bodies around the world. Gus brings something rare to DWA: not a wellness concept, but lived experience, and the credibility and warmth that come with it.

From the founder

In his words

Angus had everything and he still carried it alone. That's the moment I decided silence wasn't an option anymore.
